Materials we use

Galvanised metal components

We use all galvanised products for all our screws, bolts, plates and coping and for our plates and coping we use thick material so its not going to be flimsy and can take a beating!

Structural timber

For all our framework we use structural MGP10 timber and for the ramp under layer radiata plywood, then for all our exterior grade ramps we use all treated pine and plywood finished off with sealing our plywood grain ends.

Birch plywood

A choice for your ramp surface and slides is a BB grade, A-Bond glue, Exterior grade Birch plywood. we choose this for its quality finish durability and nice looks. It is a great choice for the ramp surface.

This to consider:

its a exterior grade board however it will require regular up-keep of sealing to last if left outside full time it is more suitable for a ramp that is stored indoors and is used outside when it is not raining.

The price of this material is more expensive then form-ply and is cheaper then the Redz products

For the most value ramp recommended selection is form-ply side and birch plywood ramp surface.

Form-ply

A choice for the sides is form-ply, this is a great choice for ramps as it has a phenolic black coloured film that protects the plywood underneath

This to consider:

its a exterior grade board and only requires up-keep of sealing the end grain as the film protects the board, this board is suitable for full time outdoor ramps

The price of this material is more affordable then birch plywood so it is the best value for ramp sides

Redz Ramp Surface

A choice for the ramp surface is Redz Ramp surface, this is the most recommended product for a professional ramp or ramps exposed to the elements and full time outdoors, it is a composite material which will not rot or delaminate.
